City will More Concern to Artists

Jakarta Provincial Government will give more attention to artists. Government will provide assistance in collaborative participatory form.

We have power in regulation side and could assist for promotion

Jakarta Vice Governor, Sandiaga Uno ensures collaborative participatory concept between artists and City, especially Jakarta Tourism and Culture Dept. (Disparbud), could develop art and creativity sectors in Jakarta.

"We want to ensure it to assist design and art sectors. We have power in regulation side and could assist for promotion," he said when attended Indonesia Contemporary Art Design (ICAD) in a hotel located in Kemang, South Jakarta, Tuesday (11/7).

According to him, ICAD concept is very positive and needed assistance and solution from government. Thus concern towards artists could be done through corporate social responsibility (CSR) and public private partnership programs.

He wants an intense coordination since there are still many independent art exhibitions.

"We want a good coordination thus people could visit and get benefit from art exhibition. Later communities could act as leading sector," he explained.

He added that art is a part of Jakarta development in order to make people happy. Art could become the most effective way to increase Jakartans happiness level.

"From now on, please coordinate the things needed from DKI. Thus Mrs. Tinia (Head of Disparbud) could arrange calendar of event," he closed.
